Flappy Bird was a mobile game featured on the App Store and Google Play in 2013 by the developer Dong Nguyen from Vietnam.
In the game, the player controls a bird, attempting to fly between rows of green pipes without hitting them, or falling to the ground.
Over the last two months, our Tinker Grade 3 students have been on a mission to recreate the game using Scratch, a free programming language.
The students followed the software development process identify problem – design – create – play & debug to successfully complete their mission.
The project hasn’t been easy. The students found debugging the most challenging.
Below is a simple flowchart for the broadcasting concept.
The scratch online community can now find and enjoy one of our student’s Flappy Bird game here.
