On Saturday mornings, our junior students are learning Life Science with fun hands-on discovery. This program allows them to explore themselves and the organisms living around them.
Tinker kids began this term with the subject of plants by observing, describing, and experimenting.
Just to prove how far their green thumbs have developed, students made their own “Jungle in a Bottle.”
As taught in class: In the natural world, during daytime, water constantly passes through plants in a process called transpiration. The water moves up from the roots and out through tiny holes in the leaves (as invisible vapor). This turns into water droplets that form clouds.
In “Jungle in a Bottle” project, the vapor becomes droplets on the inside onto the soil, like rain, and the cycle begins again.
