Tinker Education’s Computer Science Key Concepts
Tinker Education’s computer science is not to nurture students to be programmers or robot engineers, but to allow students to develop computational thinking skills.
Computational thinking is an essential skillset of the 21st century along with reading, writing, and mathematics, and it is the process of formulating a problem and expressing its solution in such a way that computers, humans or machines can effectively carry out.
Learning Sequence
Tinker Education implements student-centered learning that promotes learners to explore and reconstruct information to solve their problems independently, rather than the traditional model of students simply receiving knowledge from the instructor.
This learning sequence has been designed based on the Engineering Design Process (EDP). EDP is composed of five steps and designed for students to develop computational thinking to solve their problems independently.
