In real life, windmills are used for pumping water, grinding grain and to generate electricity.
Windmills produce wind power which is a source of renewable energy that is affordable, clean, and sustainable.
To represent this concept, our Tinker 2 student’s lesson activity was to invent a windmill using LittleBits.
To launch the windmill prototype, the students created a simple complete circuit using power-input-output.
The students most enjoyed seeing their windmills rotate.
They identified how the energy is represented in this project as electrical and yet in real life it is powered by wind.
